It’s interesting that the winner of Pickleball Slam 1.0, Andy Roddick, wasn’t included in the 2.0 event. I wonder if he was out of town or if they decided he was boring.

🎾 The Rise of Pickleball 🚀

Pickleball is taking the world by storm, especially here in the States! A bevy of tennis stars, including my buddies James Blake and Noah Rubin, have become die-hard fans of the sport. Even the phenomenal Naomi Osaka has thrown her hat in the ring, with Kim Clijsters hot on her heels. 🏃‍♀️

🐦 In a recent Twitter exchange, Blake, feeling a tad peeved at the influx of top-notch tennis players entering the Pickleball fray, amusingly tweeted to Clijsters, “Welcome to the league, Kim Clijsters. I started as the best athlete of the owners. Then Drew Brees came along. But at least I stayed the best tennis player. Now I’ve got nothing.” Her response? A simple, “Thanks for the welcome,” accompanied by a laughing emoji. 😂

Clijsters later shared her excitement about her recent investment in Pickleball, a sport she loves deeply. She’s thrilled to have the chance to shape its future alongside some wonderful people who also happen to be her best friends. 💖

I played D3 college tennis, so I thought transitioning to pickleball would be a breeze. Boy, was I wrong! The game is similar but has its own unique challenges that I've been excited to tackle. I've been playing for a few months now, and I'm completely hooked.

What I love most about pickleball is the community. It's a mix of competitive spirit and camaraderie that I haven't found in any other sport. Whether it's a casual game or a more intense match, the atmosphere is always welcoming.

When I'm not assisting in surgeries or chasing after pickleballs, I enjoy hiking, reading up on animal behavior, and trying to perfect my pickleball serve.
